Fairlight Pier - Wonderful for a stroll around the pier and the general area, its going back in time as the pier was built in 1841, but lovingly keep maintained. Today the area surrounding the pier is mainly used for entertainment purposes, but for a moment, just stand and marvel ‘How, all those years ago, such a construction took place’.
Alexander Park, Hastings - Alexandra Park is the pride of Hastings, it is listed as a park of special interest by English heritage. Often you are able to relax with live music. There are woodlands to walk through, a lake and stream, hard and grass tennis courts. Whilst in July there is a three day beer festival.
Battle Abbey - No visit to the area would be complete without a visit to Battle Abbey. Yes, it was actually six miles from Hastings at Battle where that famous encounter took place, between William the Conquerer and King Harold of England. This is an excellent tour, but allow half a day. This guided tour is excellent, there is also an audio-visual exhibition in the Abbey gatehouse. The altarmarks the spot where according to tradition, King Harold died. An arrow in his eye, and all that.
